Waiheke Island hosted its first in-person Pestival. This day event was organised by Waiheke Collective and launched during EcoFest at Waiheke Resources Trust on Sunday 2 April. The festival day included guest speakers, outdoor interactive workshops, stalls, food trucks a kid’s zone and some live music! It was a family-friendly event with activities for all ages.
Outdoor information stalls and interactive workshops included, responsible pet ownership advice from WISCA, matching the wildlife games with Te Korowai o Waiheke, and meeting the kelp gardeners with the Waiheke Marine Project. And a Kid’s zone with animal mask-making with prizes.
There also was a chance to meet a conservation dog and advice on choosing the right native plants for your backyard.
