Pets of Waiheke was established in 2023 through the Waiheke Collective to help protect Waiheke’s unique native wildlife by promoting responsible pet ownership.
The group shares practical information and resources to help pet owners understand and reduce the impacts pets can have on native birds, reptiles and other wildlife. It also provides information on local wildlife and conservation efforts.
By bringing the community together and encouraging responsible pet ownership, Pets of Waiheke aims to create a safer environment for our native wildlife, while supporting people and their pets to live together on the island.
