Since 2019, WilderFest has been bringing the Waiheke community together to celebrate our unique biodiversity and inspire people to care for the natural environment. The event has evolved from its beginnings as Pestival, growing into an annual celebration of nature, people and place.

WilderFest brings together local community groups, conservation organisations, and passionate locals through interactive activities, workshops, talks and creative experiences. It is a hands-on, accessible way for people of all ages to discover more about Waiheke’s incredible natural environment and the mahi happening to protect it.

This year it was held at Ostend Market; WilderFest aims to reach as broad an audience as possible, creating opportunities to connect with people who may not otherwise engage with environmental events
