A United network, working together to activate and amplify efforts towards a healthy, thriving natural environment on waiheke

how it started

The Waiheke Collective was initiated by a diverse group of people working in conservation. Each with their own distinct backgrounds and experiences, they committed to working together for the benefit of our wildlife, our landscape and our community. What unfolded was a series of meetings, workshops and events to establish the Waiheke Collective.

Funding was secured to support the establishment of the Waiheke Collective and co-designed a Charter outlining the purpose, values and principles. Through this two main projects, Te Korowai o Waiheke and Waiheke Marine Project were identified.

The Waiheke Collective groups meet bi-monthly to share the updates from each sub-group and provide a space for collective discussion and decision-making.

Bedford has helped accomplish over 200 of its partners’ major conservation goals. They inspire everyone to care for the planet.
